Our verdict

Vala is the home network for anyone in Kosovo who wants a contract or prepaid line without taking a device. Mobile internet pricing starts at €0.50, and the contract term runs 1 month, so leaving early is not a costly habit.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Entry pricing of €0.50 sits below Lonestar Cell MTN at $0.20.
  • Billing covers both contract and prepaid (contract and prepaid), so a fixed term and a top up line sit side by side.
  • The Pa Limit add-on brings unlimited data at €19.99, which is below the listed unlimited median of €23.19.
  • A sim only line is available, so a handset deal is not required, and an eSIM covers the other common setup.

Cons

  • Roaming in the EU is fair use, so usage abroad sits under fair use limits rather than a set monthly allowance.
  • Support runs on email, phone and help centre only, so a live chat line is not among the listed options.
  • Service runs in XK only, a single market, which rules Vala out as a multi country provider.

Who it suits

  • People in the home market who want one operator to cover both a contract and a prepaid line.
  • Travellers who mostly stay at home and treat EU roaming as occasional fair use.
  • Customers who would rather roll unused data forward than lose it each cycle.

Who should look elsewhere

  • The lowest entry price in the comparison: Lonestar Cell MTN starts at $0.20, below Vala's €0.50.
  • Customers who want rolling monthly billing alongside contract and prepaid: yesss! lists contract, rolling and prepaid, a wider set than Vala's contract and prepaid.

How it compares on our data

Two prices matter to anyone weighing a Vala line, and the rankings tell different stories. On price from, Vala sits at 15 out of 258 brands compared, which places a Vala plan in the cheaper part of the field. On the unlimited price, it sits at 68 of 173, further back. The practical reading is that entry pricing is the strong side and the unlimited option is the one to shop around before you settle. Buyers who will stay on a capped allowance get the better deal here.

Core features

Three features decide whether a Vala line works day to day, and all three are in place. Sim only is available, so you can bring your own handset and keep the line separate from a device bundle. An eSIM is on offer as well, which suits anyone who changes phone often or wants to activate a line without waiting for a card in the post. Data rollover is included, so data left in the month carries into the next one rather than lapsing. Together they cover the checks most shoppers make before signing up.

The company behind it

Vala operates under Telecom of Kosovo, which is headquartered in Kosovo. Support runs on email, phone and help centre, so a person is reachable by phone or email, and a help centre covers the questions you would rather look up in your own time. Because the same company runs the network, the help you get comes from the operator itself rather than an outsourced desk. That structure is a sensible starting point if you are weighing home market providers on who stands behind the service.

How Vala compares

Frequently asked questions

What does the cheapest Vala mobile internet plan cost?+

Mobile internet packages start at €0.50. Reference plans are sold on a contract, and the package list mixes a capped data allowance with an unlimited data add-on, so the cheapest line suits light use rather than heavy streaming.

How much is unlimited data on Vala?+

The Pa Limit add-on carries unlimited data at €19.99 and runs on a contract. Data rollover is included, so data left in one cycle carries into the next rather than disappearing. Weigh that figure against the entry price before you commit to the larger package.

Can I get a sim only line from Vala?+

Sim only is available, so you can keep your own handset and skip a device bundle. An eSIM is on offer too, which suits people who switch devices often or travel with one phone. Service runs in XK only, so the line is built for use at home rather than abroad.

What is the contract length on Vala plans?+

Plans run on 1 month terms, which sits at the short end of what mobile contracts usually look like. Billing covers both contract and prepaid (contract and prepaid), so you can take a fixed term or top up as you go.

Does Vala include roaming in the EU?+

Roaming in the EU is fair use, which means usage abroad is governed by fair use limits rather than a set monthly allowance. If you are away often, treat it as a variable cost. Only 36.1% of the listings we track state EU roaming as included, so a flat allowance takes some searching.

How do I reach Vala support?+

Support runs on email, phone and help centre, so phone and email are both open to you, with a help centre for questions you would rather look up yourself. Live chat is not among the listed channels, so a quick question sent late waits until someone picks up the phone.

Who runs Vala and where is it based?+

Vala sits under Telecom of Kosovo, headquartered in Kosovo. The provider sells as a network in its own right, so the plans and the signal come from the same company rather than a partner, which is why the service footprint is XK.

How does Vala compare on price with other brands?+

On entry price, Vala ranks 15 out of 258 brands compared. On the unlimited option it ranks 68 of 173, further back. The gap is worth weighing: Vala is cheap to start on and mid field once you want unlimited data.
