Pros and cons
Pros
- Entry pricing starts at CZK 199 on prepaid billing.
- An eSIM, 5G and sim only are all available, so a handset you already own keeps working.
- No credit check is needed to start the line.
- Datamanie NEO gives unlimited data for CZK 499 on a short renewal cycle.
- The service comes from the network operator itself, O2 Czech Republic a.s..
Cons
- Roaming in Europe runs on fair use terms rather than being included, so frequent travel abroad costs extra.
- Plan terms are 1 month, so plans renew on a short cycle with no longer term to hold a lower price.
- Service is confined to CZ, so the line does not travel beyond the Czech Republic.
- Support runs on chat and phone only, with no email or help centre option listed.
Who it suits
- Readers in the Czech Republic who already have a phone and only need a line for calls and data.
- People who want to activate a prepaid line without a credit check or a long commitment.
- Travellers in Europe whose roaming is occasional rather than everyday.
Who should look elsewhere
- getesa, if you want a contract tariff alongside prepaid, since its billing options are prepaid and contract.
- yesss!, if you want rolling billing, since its billing options are contract, rolling and prepaid while this line is prepaid only.
- lonestar-cell-mtn, if you need a plan that serves a wider set of countries, since this line runs on CZ alone.
Where it sits among rivals
On entry price, O2 CZ Datamanie ranks 146 of 258 brands, which places it well down a long price list rather than at the sharp end of it. On the unlimited price, the Datamanie NEO figure of CZK 499 sits at 74 of 173, a shorter field and a stronger result. The pattern is easy to read. The small capped plans are competitive on cost, while the unlimited option ranks higher against the plans it is directly comparable with. Neither position makes it the lowest figure in its own list, so a shopper weighing price alone should keep reading. For a reader who wants unlimited data on a prepaid Czech line, the second ranking carries more weight than the first.
What it does well
The line is sold sim only, so you bring your own handset and pay nothing extra for one. An eSIM is available, which matters for anyone adding a line or changing devices without waiting for a card in the post. 5G is offered, so newer phones in CZ can use the faster network where it has been built out. A credit check is not required, which keeps activation short and means an existing credit history does not stand in the way. Together those points make the line a low friction option, particularly as a second line or a temporary one. The service is provided by the network operator, O2 Czech Republic a.s., rather than by a reseller acting in between.
Pricing
Entry pricing starts at CZK 199 on prepaid billing, with plan terms of 1 month, so only a single period is committed at any point. The unlimited option, Datamanie NEO, costs CZK 499, and that is the figure that matters when data use is unpredictable. The larger Datamanie bundle is sold as an annual prepay rather than a rolling month, so it pays off only if the line is kept for the full year. Billing is prepaid throughout, which keeps the commitment short but leaves no contract tariff to weigh against. Setting CZK 199 beside CZK 499 gives a fair picture of the gap between a small capped plan and an unlimited one on the same network.

Frequently asked questions
How much does O2 CZ Datamanie cost to start?+
Plans start at CZK 199 on prepaid billing, with plan terms of 1 month. Because billing is prepaid, you pay for the period you want and nothing beyond it, so no minimum spend has to be reached before the line is live.
What does the unlimited data plan cost?+
The Datamanie NEO plan gives unlimited data for CZK 499 and renews on a short cycle. If your data use swings from month to month, that flat cost removes the guessing, while the capped plan at CZK 199 suits steadier, lighter use.
Do I need to pass a credit check to sign up?+
No credit check is required, and the listing records a credit check as not required for this line. Activation stays short and your credit history does not stand between you and a working line.
Can I use an eSIM with O2 CZ Datamanie?+
An eSIM is available, so you can activate without waiting for a plastic card and move between handsets more easily. The line is also sold sim only, which means bringing your own phone is the expected setup rather than an exception.
Where does the plan run?+
The line serves CZ, with CZ as its home country, so it is built for use in the Czech Republic. Roaming in Europe runs on fair use terms, which means travel use is possible but is not folded into the monthly price.
How long is the commitment?+
Plan terms are 1 month, so there is no long contract to sit through and the line can end when the prepaid period ends. The larger Datamanie bundle is the exception, sold as an annual prepay that only pays off if the line is kept for the full year.
How do I get help from the provider?+
Support runs on chat and phone, so a person can be reached by phone or in chat. Billing and plan questions are handled by O2 Czech Republic a.s., the network operator that sells the line directly.
Is this a network or a reseller?+
The line is sold by the network itself, and O2 Czech Republic a.s. is the legal entity behind the service. Listings from resellers or mobile virtual network operators run on someone else's network, so the operator relationship behind a price is not the same thing.
