Frequently asked questions
Which network does Simple Mobile run on?+
Simple Mobile is a mvno rather than a network operator in its own right, and its host network is Verizon. Coverage and network performance therefore follow the host carrier, so check the signal where you live and where you travel before you buy a plan.
Who is it for?+
It suits people who want Verizon coverage without signing a contract, such as a second line, a short trip, or a line whose data use changes each month. It is less useful if you want billing from the host carrier itself, since billing here is prepaid.
What are the alternatives?+
You can weigh Simple Mobile against three other options. AirTalk Wireless runs on AT&T and T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile Mexico on Telefonica Movistar, and congstar on Telekom, so pick by the host network you want before you sign up for a plan.
