What is Tethered charger?
In short
A home EV charger with its cable fixed to the unit, so you carry the connector to the car.
A tethered home charger keeps its cable permanently attached to the unit, so the connector lives in the boot rather than on a wall hook. An untethered charger uses a loose cable you plug in yourself, which suits a shared bay or a second car. Autel Energy, Cord EV, DRBO Greenenergy and Elli state tethered. British Gas - Hive - Smart Home & Heating does not.
