What is Host network?

A host network is the mobile network your handset actually connects to. Some brands maintain their own, while others rent capacity on a larger network. 019 Mobile runs on Partner and Pelephone, 50plus Mobiel on Vodafone, A1 Telekom Austria on A1 (own mobile network) and AirTalk Wireless on AT&T and T-Mobile. 2degrees is the unusual case in this group: it runs its own network at home and relies on partner networks when you travel. Owning the network means more control over upgrades, and the bill of building one.
