A footprint is the number of homes a provider's network passes, which shapes where it can build next.
A provider's footprint is the number of homes its network passes, whether or not those homes take the service. A larger footprint means the build is already paid for and new lines can switch on quickly. Gigaclear passes 600,000 premises, Brightspeed 1,300,000 and Carnival Internet 24,000,000.
